About Me and True Identity Yoga Therapy

I’m Hiiro Zakè Sigal Prince (He/Him). I am a trauma-informed yoga and Pilates mat and spin teacher, mentor, and educator based in Vancouver. I see myself as a proudly queer, late-diagnosed neurodivergent human (Mild Autism, ADHD, NVLD, and Anxiety). I am the grandchild of two Holocaust surviving grandparents. I believe my introspective journey to wellness started in early childhood. When I was 12 years old, I began losing my older brother from leukemia in 2005. This traumatized me. It motivated me to do everything in my power to live the healthiest life. I wanted to continue this into adolescence and adulthood.

I wasn’t athletic and had chronic asthma. I turned to running. I transformed my addiction to video games by using DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) as a secret to health. Eventually, I found yoga at 16 and fully immersed myself in it at 18 in 2010. Through a devoted daily practice, I began my first yoga teacher training in 2012. I consistently educated myself with further certifications. I established a strong foundation in neurodiversity, trauma awareness, therapeutic practices, and accessible movement education. Fall 2024 I started a yoga therapy program with Wholebody Paradigm School of Yoga (Lucy St. John and Niki Inglis) and by Fall 2026 will have acquired my C-IAYT-1000 designation.

My future goals include opening a private clinical practice. It will be tailored for neurodivergent, 2SLGBTQIA+, and non-conforming individuals. These individuals seek neutral, brave, inclusive, low-barrier, and judgment-free wellness spaces. I will continue to offer public classes, workshops, and events. Additionally, I plan to show at local, national, and global festivals and conferences.

I teach public classes. I also offer customized workshops and therapeutic yoga events. These are focused on neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQIA+ perspectives. I have graduated 10 restorative yoga teachers from my 25-Hour Classical Restorative Training. I plan to expand it with a Therapeutic Restorative Part 2, 25 Hour course. This new course will include myofascial self-release, teaching male-identifying demographics and neurodiversity informed approaches.

You will experience a teaching style rooted in neutrality, accessibility, and empowerment. I draw from dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and lived experiences with trauma, gender, and mental + cognitive health. My classes focus on nervous system regulation. They emphasize self-reflection and the full 8-limbed path of yoga. All students are encouraged to move intuitively. They are welcomed to change or rest. Students can excuse themselves from the shared space as needed.

I keep an open-door dialogue with every class. This allows students and clients to ask questions during practice. It encourages collaboration as a collective. My goal is to guarantee a neutral and judgment-free setting. I include intentional playlists. They range from instrumental video game soundtracks to acoustic pop. Occasionally, I add deep house. These are tailored to the emotional and energetic needs of each experience.

I am passionate about props. I value consensual hands-on assists and tangible tools for integration. Supporting students in transferring lessons from the mat into daily life is a priority for me. It’s always my intention to foster neutral, accessible and brave spaces that promote healing, play, and authenticity.

Off the Mat

Beyond teaching and practicing in the studio or at home, I worked on a different project. From 2020-2025, I co-produced and hosted a mental health podcast.
It was called Pardon My Mind with Rachel and Hiiro. The podcast featured candid dialogues with everyday people and pop culture celebrities. These conversations spanned across 100+ episodes.

After being late-diagnosed with AuDHD in Spring 2023, I started to learn gradually. I’ve learned to unmask. I have also reoriented my lifestyle to improve my mental and cognitive wellness. Amplifying underrepresented voices through social media is a core value of mine. This passion led me to launch my new and upcoming podcast. It will debut in Fall 2025 and is called UnExSpected.

This podcast project will feature myself and/or guests. We will cover different topics around mental and cognitive health. We will also explore queer culture and lifestyle. Yoga and wellness will be included in a casual and accessible format. I will also share my musings and life lessons from past, current, and future experiences. These include my reflections as an anxious and queer person. I am also late-diagnosed with AuDHD + NVLD.

Thanks to modern science and professionals, I’m content with my life. I am ready to experience what the future holds for these endeavours. Thank you for stopping by. I look ahead to connecting with you online. You can also connect with me on the mat in my classes and offerings.

I am always proactively unmasking through all audiobooks and workbooks. These are accessible from streaming platforms. I self-soothe from the outside realm through my special interests in Nintendo video gaming and competition reality TV shows. I also find solace in writing and photography. Additionally, I enjoy being immersed with close friends and family and the yoga and wellness communities in Vancouver. I am also a major foodie and can’t get enough of all Asian/Veggie/Vegan cuisines especially Sushi or dim sum!

Unmasking and stimming are pivotal in regulating the nervous system, regardless of one’s neurotype.
